Stayed downtown for a convention for Esri. This was one of the two hotels with social rates and being a long term Hilton Honors member I wanted to stick with a brand and property that is typically great (don't stay at the Miami Airport hotel!! Please see my review).
This property is new and very modern with a great architectural style. Beware no self parking at this property at all. I suspect that parking is a serious issue in downtown Charlotte anyway but $23 a day for parking is a little too high for a staying guest, provide some self parking!
The check in process was a little poorly ha fled because I did not have my Honors number attached and the guest services rep would not give me the HH water I typically get which made for a poor start to my stay.
The room was great, a little tight, but still very great for two people for a few days. Don't stay on the side with the NASCAR museum on it if possible because it plays a advertisement until 10 that is very loud and you can easily hear in the room. Honest surprised that the City of Charlotte has not dealt with that noise ordinance issue.
The reception was well run with a little different procedure where you just go to the bar area to get your drinks instead of some separate location.
Breakfast was typical of other properties being well done and very filling. They don't let you take your food back to your room for some reason which I found to be an odd policy.
Checkout was painless and car retrieval was quick and efficient.
I recommend this property and will stay here again if possible.
