| - Someone smelled "stale grease?" Really?
All I smelled were fresh fruits and veggies.
During my debut commute from my new neighborhood, I caught MixStirs in my sights as I exited the trolley station and stopped in for a "lunchy" breakfast that consisted of a tuna wrap, a macadamia nut cookie, and a Pina Colada smoothie.
MixStirs somewhat invokes Subway in style and substance, and the tuna wrap pretty much encapsulated that. Heavy on the mayonnaise, the wrap was a cut below that which Subway offers (one of their better sandwiches, actually), but it really wasn't at all disgusting either. If I had to assign a letter grade to it, I'd give it a B-. Neither abominably bad nor extraordinarily delicious, the wrap merely quelled my raging morning stomach storm.
The macadamia nut cookie also recalled Subway with its uniform chewiness and sweetness. Again, we're talking middle-grade here.
The real story, of course, can be found in the smoothie. They were out of bananas, so the cheery server threw raspberries in it to tart, wake-up call effect. Who needs coffee for a A.M. jolt, y'know?
Considering that I had been without internet for a few days due to the move, I also greatly appreciated the free-to-use computers, which I of course took full advantage of?
Guess where I logged in? I'll wait.
Do I need to say it?
Yup. My name is Darren, and I am a Yelpaholic. Withdrawals: They sting, don't they?
In all seriousness, MixStirs is acceptable, but I'd give them a 4 based on the smoothie alone, and I am not a superfan of smoothies.
P.S. The lights were not low, and the place was clean when I visited.
P.P.S. I do agree with those who are complaining about MixStir's pricing. My total for all I ordered was $12.60! Ow.
