| - I am going to give Rumbi a solid 4 stars. Here's why...
The staff is amazing. They are helpful...and they always far exceed our expectations for a casual dining restaurant. One example? When an employee with his hands completely full saw DH re-approaching the counter, he set everything down for a moment to get DH's cup. They are the MOST polite restaurant employees I have encountered in similar restaurants. They are also on top of everything, making sure the tables are bussed in a short time, even when they are completely busy. And, to that effect, the tables are spotless when they are cleared.
The food is really quite good. If DH, DD and I can all eat our food and be satisfied with no complaints, it is a hit. Honestly, pleasing DD's palate can be challenging at times (with her preferring vegetarian fare). Rumbi's bowls, while very carb heavy, are filled with delicious vegetables and lightly seasoned proteins.
My favorite is the Bali Island chicken bowl, which feeds me for two days. I generally order brown rice, which nearly fills the bowl it is in. Then it is topped with chicken, sauce and vegetables, with a side of the sauce in case you need more (I rarely do).
The sweet potato fries are crinkle cut and served with a dipping sauce. They are quite good. Another reviewer gave the fries a thumbs down for them not having salt... well, I have never been served sweet potato fries with salt on them. Usually I have found them to be served with brown sugar on top, if anything. The dipping sauce is good and the fries were well-received on my most recent visit by DD. This is an incredible accomplishment, as she never touches fries!
I've tried the Kahuna Burger. It did not beat Red Robin's version, but it was VERY filling and, again, made for two full meals.
This place is VERY family-friendly, offering KIDS EAT FREE on Monday and Tuesdays after 4p.m.
I definitely recommend Rumbi for pleasing tricky palates at an affordable price.
