| - Solid, cute little diner with views of the gorgeous Allegheny Cemetery.
My boyfriend and I visited Pittsburgh last weekend and our AirBnB was close by, so we decided to give Barb's a shot. We got there probably around 9am on a Sunday and it was unsurprisingly busy. There were people from all walks of life here, and the waitresses were all colorful, friendly people. Despite being busy, we were greeted the moment we walked in, and were told to pick any table. We picked a small table near the window, which allowed us to enjoy the late summer/early autumn sun through the Halloween-decorated windows. My boyfriend got coffee which was refilled regularly.
I ordered the sweet potato poutine with fried eggs, he got a ham omelette. Overall, it was very good diner food. He enjoyed his omelette and its home fries. My sweet potato poutine was good - I really liked the fried spicy cheese curds, but I'm pretty sure my waffle fries were just regular potato, not sweet potato, which was a bit of a bummer. Still delicious though, especially with the runny egg yolks (Mmmm...)
If you're looking for a solid, fairly priced diner after a wild night out (or, yaknow, because diner food is just good), this is a great choice!
