| - You have 2 options:
1) Go get raped at the dealership
2) Call Lockaid
That pretty much sums it up, but if you want here's the longer version:
I bought a 2012 Toyota Camry recently and the only thing it didn't come with was a remote head key (You know, the key that has the remote built into it). So I was stuck with a regular key, and can't do shit except turn a lock. It's a real pain in the ass to open your doors the old fashion way, so I reviewed my options:
A) I could try to do everything myself...find the key online, maybe get the right one, maybe get a shitty key with the wrong chip or something, wait for it to ship, pay for cutting, attempt to program it, study that all day, fail 100 times...etc..etc..Who has time for that? Not me.
B) Call the dealer and they charge you $300 just for the key, then make you schedule an appointment with service, who will claim it took them 3 hours of labor, and you'll pay $400+ or something retarded. Who wants to give car dealers any more money anyways? Not me. Go read any car dealers Yelp reviews and see how friendly they are....
C) (SPOILER ALERT: BEST OPTION IS C): Call Lockaid, they will come to you and do everything above for the cheapest possible price anywhere. Gabriel came over to my house and figured everything out for me. It took him like 10 minutes to be at my door from the time I called him, he had the exact key I wanted, cut it, programmed it to my Camry so the remote worked perfectly and then made sure I tried it out and everything worked before he left.
Not one bad thing to say.
