| - Oh how I wished this club met expectations, but guess the bar was set too high. Let me preface this with saying I have been to some of the best clubs around the world for EDM and my husband and I love a great dance night out. We were celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary (married in Vegas) over Labor Day weekend. We paid for GA tickets for all of our guests and chose this club based on generally positive reviews and because Kaskade was playing that evening. That said, here is the down-low (take it or leave it).
As not to be a complete nay-sayer, the club is indeed beautiful and I would choose an indoor/outdoor flow over a "sardine box" club any day. We went to get in line as recommended by 10.30pm to avoid a long wait and as such, we can't complain about the line to get in, although oddly only guys were in line with us (guess they got the memo that they get charged heaps at the door by bouncers if arrive too late because the club wants primarily girls ). As for bouncers being rude based on other comments, I would say they meet the standard of all Vegas clubs - very stoic and do not give two shits about making your night better - you are just another one of the many party goers they have to put up with over the course of the evening.
On to the show . . . sadly we did did not get the memo that in order to enter the main dance floor you have to stand in another line, not to mention there is no place to sit unless you have a reserved table or cabana. I realize at a club, there is not usually much sitting, but just because we opted out on a cabana for $2K or table for 5K (thank the lord), we are cattle class. All good, but when I pay for a $25 drink, at least have a couple of stools at the main bar to rest the high heels for 5 minutes!
TIP: Once on the main dance floor after waiting in another line, choose wisely on going back out to the poolside as you might not get back in. Had I known in advance about the second line, I may have chose another club. Because we were earlier than most, we did get the chance to dance right in front of the DJ booth until later packed in like sardines. As an EDM music fan, all I can say is that the pre-game show of DJs was sad. I realize they are meant to sound worse than the main act, but I would any EDM playlist blasting outside at the pool at our hotel would have been better. That about sums it up. Kaskade took way too long to come on and could not bear to stay and experience further disappointment - peace out at 2am.
I am sure on a less busy Vegas weekend of the year, XS has greater potential, but take my word for it that you are probably better off going to one of the smaller clubs with a good house DJ unless hell bent on seeing a big act who typically only plays for one hour near closing time. Go to Ibiza if you want the big-named DJ experience done right.
