  • Lets start with the nay sayers that have placed some reviews on here; I am not sure what you saw, read, or thought you would experience here but I am very confused by them. First, the Caribbean is known for a great many spices and throughout history they have traded them, looted for them, and perfected them. So when you say the jerk chicken lit your mouth on fire, I say "you're welcome!" Each item we ordered was perfectly seasoned and so well done, if it wasn't for the urban atmosphere I would have said I was eating in Jamaica. We ordered the plantains to start which were amazing. It is hard to perfect a plantain, in my opinion, since they can be bland but these are very tasty. The jerk sauce paired with it was amazing! And that was just the starter. We ordered the prawns and the Caribbean Jerk Salad and the Red Stripe Curried Prawns. Again, how do you make a dish from very humble ingredients taste so good? First, you come here you let the chefs magic happen. The prawns were spicy and full of flavor. The red beans and rice are an awesome compliment. Top notch food... Now the bar...okay, this is a bar! Not a $9 beer night followed by shots of some swill. This is a bar people! There are mixologists that can place tastes on your palate from very precise mix of rums and flavors up on the shelf. This is not a "vodka" bar as one review had so complained. It is a RUM bar and it does just that amazingly. They pull the flavors and complexities of each rum and pour it into a drink of amazing conceptions that very few bars do anymore. Very well done! My only negative was that I wished that it was bigger...well...but then I don't...people need to experience this all on their own. Being that it is a smaller footprint you will need a reservation. It did feel cramped in the corner but it did not detract from the experience for me. Walking up and in might be a challenge but don't let that stop you from going in.
