I think two stars generously covers the experience.
The decor is appealing, but the chairs are uncomfortable and insubstantial.
Since coffee and tea is what this establishment is all about (during the day), it would seem that the most important thing they can do is strive to serve good coffee and tea. Agreed?
Apparently not.
My tea bag was put into lukewarm water - unbeknownst to me - and after the addition of milk, it was no longer even warm. The water was so cool that the tea could not 'steep' and was very weak. My friend's americano was equally lukewarm and therefore unpalatable.
When I returned the tea to see about the problem, my tea was remade (in the same cup) using the steam function of the espresso machine and I was told that "this is the hottest water I have" like this was a special thing done just for me...
My question is: why wouldn't you use the hottest water you have in the first place...and in ever instance?? No one wants dishwater served up as tea or coffee in a CAFE.
I won't be back. Neither will my friend.
