  • My experience taking my parents to eat here will tell you all you need to know about this place. I was an ASU law student at the time. In our college newspaper I found a coupon for Priya, so my visiting parents and I decided to eat there to satisfy our craving for South Indian food. The coupon said something along the lines of "10% or $2 off lunch". We had buffet meals, which was below average mainly because some of the food was lukewarm. I then presented the coupon to the cashier (who I believe was the owner) and asked for the 10% discount. He quite rudely told me "No. 10% is only for dinner. You only get the two dollar discount." There was no mention of dinner on the coupon, but I didn't argue with him for even a second. I just told him, "Ok, that's fine, we'll accept the two dollar discount. But just so you know, you should probably change your coupon because the way it's worded you make it sound like we could get 10% off of lunch." I was telling him, politely, that we weren't even going to argue about what discount we should get; just, "FYI dude, your coupon's a bit confusing." Rather than just moving on, the cashier proceeded to argue with me, repeating what he'd said earlier. I told him again, we were fine with just the two dollar discount and that my only point was that his coupon was unclear and that's why I had requested the 10% discount. This fell on deaf ears. We got the last laugh. After accepting my stupid two dollar discount, I withheld what would have been my 15% tip from these idiots and got my ten percent discount after all, and then some. We vowed never to return to this place again, and several years later, we never have. If you want South Indian food, the best in the Valley is at Udupi Cafe. Stay away from this dump, unless you want belligerent, hostile attitudes from staff and cold food.
