  • I've been transported back to downtown Flushing, NY! Images of whole ducks hanging in windows. The aroma of marinated meats simmering and frying and the bustling fish market.... All in one place! I can get all of Asian fixings in one place! This is the largest Asian grocery store I've seen in NC! And they have a traditional Chinese cafeteria!! Mmmmm Roast duck and pork and the dipping juice! Just know that if you are not familiar with this scene, you won't understand it and may even be a little grossed out, like my husband was but this is a part of my childhood! Having grown up in the most diverse part of Queens, NY, I LIVE for places like these. This market also has lots of live seafood and a great place to go in a pinch when you want to have a crab boil. They have all the literal strange fruits and veggies that you may have seen on an episode of Anthony Bourdains No Reservations as well as all the basics. Lots of frozen dumplings repping all parts of Asian and all your favorite Asian beers like Chinese tsing tsao, Japanese Sapporo and and Korean Hite! This place has it all. The prices are a little bit higher than you may find in a place that has an abundance of places like these but they know they are sitting on a gold mine and going to get paid for it! I'm thrilled to have found this place that makes me feel a little at home.
