| - Whilst on the hunt for a good burger, my cohorts and I wound up here.
Well, sort of. We actually wound up in the subdivision three blocks north of here because the maps were wrong. And the GPS was confused. And the dude who we asked directions from pointed us towards the mountain. Nevertheless, we did locate this establishment. It is tucked away in the grocery store shopping center which your GPS will insist is a few blocks north of where it actually is.
After that adventure, we had worked up quite an appetite. I went for the Kobe burger and we sat outside to wait for it. The atmosphere inside was a bit noisy for lunch, the music is fairly loud and the layout is somewhat cramped which I think adds to the din. Outside it was completely different, peaceful, quiet, lovely.
The burger came and was cooked to specification, though they did give me the wrong toppings. No matter, I can pull the stuff I didn't want off. The bun was a perfect mate with the burger, which was cooked to medium-rare perfection. The fries were a bit over-saturated, none of us liked them very much. My buddy ordered a bison burger and found it a bit tougher than others he has tried, he was jealous when I told him my Kobe burger was moist and juicy.
The service was friendly but did take a while. We got there after the lunch rush and the place cleared out by the time we were done, so perhaps he was just overworked or they were understaffed. I thought it was worth the wait, my two lunch partners did not. It all depends on your hunger level, perhaps.
While in North Scottsdale, this is a fine place to enjoy a good lunch. It'll cost you more than other places, but that's kind of what keeps up the North Scottsdale appearances, no?
