| - Oh, Eleven, Eleven how I love thee!! You truly are the restaurant love of my life - you are the whole package - fantastic food, phenomenal wine list, great service, relaxing and classy decor and ambiance - you have it all. On our most recent visit I told our server about my loft idea should I ever win the lottery and she liked the idea so much that told me that now she hopes that SHE wins the lottery because she is going to steal my idea! That being said my darling, we need to talk, about size. I remember the first time I had the Eleven Burger for my birthday in September 2006. It was the first ever gourmet burger that I had ever eaten and I fell in love - it was the best burger in town and not only was it delicious with braised veal and bacon on top with white cheddar and the crispy onions but it was HUGE and only $11. I couldn't even finish it and took half home. Fast forward to 2015 - I still love the burger - I will challenge anyone who says that it isn't STILL the best one in Pittsburgh and I even defend the now $16 price tag and the ever shrinking size, but still earlier this month when we were there for brunch I took half of my burger home. So, imagine our surprise when we used our annual $10 off coupons (and I always feel a little dirty even using coupons at Big Burrito establishments because, well it's FINE dining, but hey, I frequent the restaurants enough that I feel that I've spent a fair amount of money to support getting some perks once in a while). Anyhow, I digress, imagine our surprise when our burgers came out and they were so small that we joked that soon the burger was going to be the size of a slider. We just had the burger at the beginning of the month, and now the other day it was even smaller than before (the incredibly shrinking burger). So, I wondered, given that I politely had our coupons displayed for the server to see, were we perhaps given the $10 off coupon size burger? Say it isn't so, but even if it is...(cue the music)...And I will always loooooove you!! I will always love yoooooou! But, please don't give me "coupon" portions again. LOVE YOU!
