| - My husband and I took a 36 hour getaway (even though we live 15 minutes away from the hotel) to spend some time together and away from our lovable but crazy toddler.
After some intense cross-referencing on Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Yelp (my fav!), etc., I decided on InterContinental Hotel Toronto Centre- conveniently located steps away from Union Station, Rogers Centre (eff it, it's called SkyDome) and the CN Tower, as well as tons of restaurants, bars, clubs, a movie theatre and basically everything.
I was immediately wowed. Despite all of my years living in Toronto I've never set foot in this hotel. I was gorgeous, palatial even, and that was just the lobby. The front-desk staff were amazing and automatically upgraded us to a "club room" on the 9th floor. Let me just say, we were mutha effin' rock stars. This upgrade meant access to the 9th floor Club Lounge- a relaxing little cove with a great view of the city, complimentary breakfast in the morning, afternoon tea each day and appetizers from 6-8 p.m. each night, as well as complimentary juice and soft drinks. Like really. We basically didn't need to eat otherwise. It was amazing.
The room was fantastic, modern, clean, awesome. There is also a stacked 24 hour fitness centre, a salt water pool and hot tub and a full-service spa (reviewed separately). We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
