| - We purchased a GE Washer and Dryer from Spencer's and we loved them. Great service, the sales rep was nice (you get your rep assigned to you when you walk in, so you are usually stuck with who is up next unless you come specifically for a rep you like). The GE Warranty came in handy, so we used it, and we never purchased an extended warranty and have used GE for all our service and we are happy.
Then we purchased a GE dishwasher and we like it, too. Good pricing, great installation, and same service guy we had for the W/D came to our house recently to help with the dishwasher (under warranty!) Angel from GE is really the very BEST, BTW...side plug for GE appliances.
Now let's talk about our fridge. It is an Amana. And it was the most expensive. We went through Spencer's and purchased a warranty and the warranty apparently has come in handy! 4 years into owning this fridge, which we like, the fridge stopped cooling. Some issue with the defrosting mechanism.
We called Spencer's and they tell us that the extended warranty is valid, so we call CENTURION EXTENDED WARRANTY and they set up an appointment for Monday (the Fridge wasn't working Friday, but they won't come on weekends.) So, Monday comes and the fellow calls to confirm the appointment, but then he never shows up.
We try calling him at Centurion, and nothing. They don't even answer their phones at 4 in the afternoon on a Monday. So then we call Spencer's again (now that the technician is 2 hours late.) Spencer's and Centurion are owned by the same company, so obviously they should be able to help, but they can't. John, from Spencer's (thanks John!!) was awesome and he called the manager at Centurion and apparently the technician is missing in action.
Finally, nearly 3 hours later, the technician (Gilbert) from Centurion arrived. He apologized. Looked around the fridge, and then exclaimed that he knew what was wrong and that he didn't have the part on his truck and he would have to come back.
If you are still reading this and you want to go to Spencer's, here is my advice...
(1) When you can afford it, purchase a GE appliance
(2) When you go to Spencer's - ask for John Price. He's the fellow who worked on this issue and with us and he went out of his way to help us...we won't work with anyone else there
(3) NEVER purchase the warranty from Spencer's
It was a naïve mistake to buy this warranty. The BBB gives Centurion an F!!

Spencer's has an A+ Rating on BBB. I have had no issue with their service or support, or their named brand appliances like GE and honestly have liked the Amana!! I give them 3 out of 5 because they sold us this horrible warranty on our biggest purchase.
