Tom will tell you he's the best barber on the block but then literally point out he's the ONLY barber on his block! lol. Honestly, I think he's the best in Pittsburgh. I've gotten so many compliments about my haircut that it makes me not want to go anywhere else. I think he does a fantastic job at a great price.
Dude is busy and for a very good reason. I would definitely call in for an appointment. If you walk in, it'll probably best in the morning. Otherwise, you might be waiting a bit.
We shared drinks, talk about life, work, sports, news, etc. He's on a first name basis with many of his clients. He calls me "doc" every time I come in because of my scrubs.
The place has an old school vibe to it though I do see guys of all ages go here. Tom has paintings on the wall that he painted himself. He has pictures of his family, kids, and grandkids. He has boxes of toys in the waiting area. TV is always in the background playing the news. It's a homely place.
I don't know what else to say. Dude knows how to cut hair and a friendly guy. I'm going to keep going to him no matter where I am in Pittsburgh.
