| - I really really wanted to love this place. The marketing is so cool and I've been waiting for the opportunity to come sample the cuisine. A friend invited us to join him to see Mariah Carey at Caesars, so this was that opportunity! I was so excited.
The Pros
- The marketing is cool.
- The place looks cool.
- We were serviced by 3 different guys and they were all very helpful and attentive!
- We all agreed that the calamari was the best item we had.
The Cons
- Poor Selection. I wasn't crazy about the menu items so much so that I ended up getting a salad. Getting a salad at a place as nice as Searsuckers is like going to Basking Robins & getting vanilla ice cream.
- Duck Fat Fries. GROSS. If I were a fast food character, I would be The Fry Guy. The aftertaste of the 'duck fat' was gross. Seriously gross. I barely touched the dish, and even told the waiter that, well, they were gross, but he said that he loves them & he left them on the bill. Shannon & Scot were in agreement about the grossness.
- Expensive. I don't mind having a crazy expensive dinner, but I just wasn't expecting it here. The Cesears website has it listed as $$ and Yelp has it as $$$. My Cobb salad with shrimp was $34. My martini was $14, but the Apple Martini listed on the menu was $35. Hmmm. All in, we spent $235 for 3 people. I had a salad & fries, Scot only had an appetizer, Shannon had a caesar salad and we all shared the calamari.
For the record, Shannon & Scot rated Searsucker higher than I did. There are several locations nationwide, so I must be in the minority of disfavor. Maybe you will like Searsucker more than I did.
