  • Why do BBQ joints think that salty and spicy equals flavor. Let the wood do the work. We ordered the sample platter and it was disappointing to say the least. The rub used on the ribs was too spicy and had the consistency of sawdust. The fatty Brisket was just fat. The pulled pork was sautéed in cayenne pepper and habanero as well as some kind of mystery spice. (It may have been hippie strength pepper spray). The management seemed very defensive when we tried to ask questions. The servers seemed ok. All in all we won't be going back since there are many truly good BBQ places around and we don't have to lower our standards by going to Midwood Smokehouse.
