| - The Cleveland Museum of Art is seriously a treasure in Cleveland. This is a world class museum that holds a diverse collection of art. Best part, it's free (except for special exhibitions)!
The museum is huge and is divided up into several different areas. There are constantly new rotating exhibitions, as well as the more permanent collections. Definitely don't feel rushed to see it all at once. Especially since it is free, you can just peruse one area for a little bit and then come back again another time to see more. It is perfect for someone like me who isn't blessed with having a real appreciation for art, but does like looking at things every once in a while.
Keeping that in mind, I honestly have to say one of my favorite things about the museum is that the building itself is beautiful, both the inside and the outside. I mean hey, this happens to be S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters (Captain America was filmed here)! I would often come to the main atrium just to study as a change of scenery. If you plan to do this, please be aware that they won't let you bring backpacks in, so you'll probably need to check your bags and carry your things in your hands.
The museum also will host different monthly interactive events (you have to pay). While I never got the chance to go, some of them definitely seemed interesting. So if you're interested, definitely look it up online and check them out.
Now that I have left Cleveland, I definitely miss being able to spontaneously decide to visit this museum and explore more of what it has to offer.
