| - Before moving in, I've read reviews here on Yelp and also on Facebook. They were all pretty mixed reviews but I have some friends that already have been living here and according to their experience it was 'okay' especially for it being the lowest price I could find for a 1 bedroom/sq footage on this side of town... I've only been here for about 2 months.
First of all, if you ever need to get a hold of anyone at the office you HAVE to call or go in. Don't even bother emailing because it always seems that one or the other is always out of office or on vacation. I work in customer service myself and I have learned that GREAT customer service means replying within 24 hours or sooner, or even ATLEAST set up an auto reply so that your customer or client isn't waiting all weekend or even a week for an answer. Especially when it comes to paperwork. I waited 3 days once and when I finally called they had said the manager was on vacation. And I was emailing her this whole time!
Second, the property isn't even that great. It smells like dog piss and crap everywhere you go. No one seems to know how to pick up after their dogs either. The front of the complex where the main road is and mailboxes/ office is infested with roaches!!! The bottom of the stairwells are slowly gaining more cobwebs and I've already seen several black widows. Why am I being charged pest control monthly and there are roaches and poisonous spiders everywhere???
Third, this happened today. On top of the annoying quarterly fire alarm testing, the elevator in my building (or so I was told, several buildings) happens to be down. So imagine my surprise when I walk up with my wagon full of groceries, home necessities and my 2 year old niece, and the side maintenance door next to the elevator is propped open and the elevator is just wide open. With no maintenance worker inside!!! I waited a few mins and thought why the hell am I just standing here, I'm going to the office to find out what's going on. So I walk over to the office and I tell the man in there that the elevator is down and I have all these things I can't bring up. He tells me that unfortunately all elevators are being worked on. And I'm like, it would have been nice to know??? Like what the hell, shouldn't you send out emails or something to notify the tenants living in the building about this issue, especially if you yourself don't even know how long it will take? He didn't even offer to help me, by the way. Such total inconvenience. I live on the 3rd floor.
Lastly, I forgot to mention that our water for the whole building went out for more than 8 hours!!! My boyfriend and I went to Walmart and bought 10 gallons of water because we didn't know when it would come back on. AGAIN, why weren't we notified of this? We found out by turning our faucet and overheard the neighbors in the hallway knocking on each other's doors asking if they had the same issue. Apparently this wasn't the first time either. A friend of ours has been in this complex for 2 years and he said this has happened 2x since he's been here. Just so happens the water line they had to repair was right in front of his garage so he couldn't take his car to work for a while.
Overall, from personal experience, don't come here looking for customer service or a well maintained property. The apartments are decent, I love the size. I love the front patio, It's nice to have a private entrance. Hate that the shared wall is so thin. I can seriously hear the neighbor having sex, or watching porn, or whatever he/ she is doing. I'll just say this, you get what you pay for.
