So the Wynn Golf Club still carries a greens fee of $500 at this time. I've played it in the past, and it's OK, your typical contrived course on a small plot of land. Tom Fazio is a great course designer, but he's at his best when he has large pieces of land to work with. The reality is that $500 per person is ridiculous in today's economy, particularly since the last two weekend stays that I have had at the Wynn/Encore, I noticed either noone or maybe one group on the golf course on a Saturday. I guess Steve Wynn doesn't want to lower the rate, since he obviously doesn't need the money (just bought a $33 million Rembrandt at auction). I'm a member at 2 country clubs, and I find this price to be ridiculous for a daily fee course. For as good a Fazio experience, you can play the Lakes course at Primm Valley at the NV/CA border for one-fourth the price. Or you can take your $500 and play Pebble Beach (provided that you pay to stay at the hotel).
