| - Service: When we first got to Malee's and got seated, the waiter came over to fill our glasses, and ended up spilling water all over my friends placemat. My friend asked him what his favorite thing on the menu was, and he didn't say anything, and I was certain that we were setting ourselves up for a terrible meal. But then another woman came over and she was funny and kind and great (and successful) at upselling, and she really made the experience so much better. She brought over extra rice when we asked for it, and also when I got a box for my leftovers, she added a small carton of rice to go with it, which was very thoughtful.
Food: we got calamari to share, and it was served with two sauces. I only used the sweet chili one, and it was delicious with the calamari. Nothing special, but solid. I got the "Tropical Pineapple," which was just a seafood curry served in a pineapple. It wasn't spicy AT ALL despite me ordering it "hot," but still exceptionally delicious. There was only one shrimp, which was kind of disappointing, because shrimp is my favorite seafood, but there was a lot of calamari and a good number of scallops and mussels. My s/o got the yellow curry, which he scarfed down.
Drinks: Originally, I wasn't going to drink anything at all. But then our server mentioned sangria, and I couldn't help myself. It was strong, but very fruity.
I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Scottsdale and craving some Thai.
