Great spot with a different style of Japanese food. Definitely a nice step away from your tepanyaki, guu style resto, or sushi/ramen.
The ika mariyaku is a whole grilled sliced squid - great for sharing and a larger portion. The makarel is deliberately not deboned (be careful), but it is extremely tasty otherwise. The corn tempura was light and sweet. They also have these small set meals that come with rice and miso soup. We tried the pork which was a little bland, but still good - I'd try the fried chicken next time.
The plum wine is to die for!! The interior of the restaurant has a neat authentic japanese feel to it too with the vinyl interlocking flooring. I really enjoyed this place and would recommend it.
