  • Rita's is one of my all-time favorite summer treats. My go-to order is the mango gelati, and pro tip: ask for a layer of vanilla custard in between the layers of mango ice. This was our first trip to the location in Plaza Midwood and the ladies behind the counter were very friendly. My husband had a regular size chocolate/vanilla twist custard cone and it was HUGE (no pic because it was gone in the blink of an eye). The store itself was also very clean and there is ample seating as a nice refuge from CLT's summer heat.
