We discovered this place a few months ago and it's been birthday season in our family so we've ordered 4 or 5 cakes and countless pastries there in the span of a few months. Granted, some cakes rank a 5/10 and some are a 9/10, but overall we thought the value was good, once you know what to order of course.
Yesterday, we picked up and paid for our cake and when we were about to sing "Happy Birthday", discovered that it was not the same one we ordered and which was reflected on our receipt (even though the name printed on the gigantic ribbon obscuring the cake was correct). Disappointed, we knew the flavor was not to our taste but we had no choice but to serve it as we had guests around the table. It was 8:15pm and we even tried calling the bakery to do a quick switcheroo seeing that we live only a few minutes away but it had just closed.
Today, we go back and speak to the owner, armed with pictures and the receipt. All we get is arrogance and more arrogance and a "je peux rien faire pour vous". We weren't necessarily expecting a free cake, but a sincere apology and a small commercial gesture would have gone a long way. We've spent more than $200 here in the last few months alone but we will be taking our business permanently elsewhere to a bakery that actually cares about their regular clientele.
