I was first introduced to their infamous pork bone soup on a cold night (early morning?) shortly after an evening at the club. Of course not this location but their very first one at Yonge and Finch area. This stuff was addictive. Hot soups, cold nights, cheap bills; you can't really ask for more. This was probably one of the new addictions at that time, kind of like having your first slice of pizza ever!
Years have past and imitators, innovators and copycats of this stuff are in abundance. They have since expanded their menu significantly in order to stay relevant and with that prices have also gone up significantly. There are many Korean restaurant staples; soups, soups, rice and various meats slathered in spicy, greasy sauce; delicious stuff.
This is probably one of the first pioneers of Korean cuisine in Toronto. They really have done a commendable job of ushering in all the quality Korean restaurants we are seeing today. Unfortunately, they have also fallen behind in the process.
All in all, I wouldn't necessarily avoid this place nor would I recommend it. It's kind of like McDonald's... It's not great but somedays you just want to eat it. Make no mistake about it, this is late night drunk food at it's finest unless of course you prefer hotdogs at 4am.
