Within 2 weeks of my initial meeting with Dr. Baldauf, after a long period of ongoing pain, my surgery occurred. I was walking, a bit, within an hour of coming out of anesthesia. My surgery was on a Tuesday and I left the hospital on Thursday, walking fine with a walker.
I was able to stop taking pain meds and move to OTC pain relievers within a few days. I progressed from a walker to a can in about a week and off the cane a couple of days later.
I returned to work (at a desk), part-time, the Monday after my surgery and full-time the following week.
I was diligent about the PT exercises and was able to be fully released about 2 months after the surgery. I am told that is unusual, but all went very well for me. A colleague of mine had hip surgery a few months before mine and was out of the office for about 2 months. I'm not entirely sure of the difference, but I believe it has to do with Dr. Baldauf's technique and recovery instructions.
I likely will need to have surgery on my other hip. I will absolutely have it done by Dr. Baldauf and his team.
