| - We had been looking forward to trying the Wild Thaiger for months, so I was so glad we finally made it here!
Location: great, if you know what's good for you. Downtown Phoenix has amazing restaurants, and this one is conveniently off Central, south of Thomas.
Service: mixed. The hostess let us choose a seat on the patio and was very friendly. Dinner service was not very friendly and pretty short, not totally uncommon at Asian food restaurants, but this was pretty curt. Patio service was very sporadic and we frequently found ourselves needing water or other items and there were no servers in site for ten minutes.
Food: we started with the Satay platter, which came with two chicken and beef skewers, and two pieces of shrimp. The temperature wasn't hot enough when it was served and the peanut sauce was heavy, but the overall taste was fine.
Dinner entrees were the chicken pad Thai and gai katchu. The pad Thai was just delicious, served in a huge portion with crisp sprouts and boys of peanuts. It could have used just a tad bit more heat, but hey, I live on the wild side.
The Gai Katchu was just as good, and we ordered it hot. It was definitely spicy, but had great flavor. Could have used more chicken.
Overall: The food was delicious for the most part, but we couldn't ignore the sub-par service.
