| - Bang for your buck! More for your moola! How much can I pile in this box for one Hamilton! OK, I'll stop.
Market on the Move has to be one of the very best values in Tucson. My daughter and I tracked down the NW side location for the 2/16 event and headed to the Vision church location off Twin Peaks and I-10 around 8AM. Wow. We should have planned to arrive at 7:00 or 7:30. We were greeted by a very long line of other healthy value hunters. LONG line. Parked the car and brought a laundry basket along with us and got in line.
The line brings you to a table where you pay your $10 and then get in to one of the distribution lines which move pretty quickly. On this particular morning we got eggplants, yellow squash, Mexican grey squash, grapefruit, English cucumbers, vine ripened tomatoes, roma tomatoes, oranges, butternut squash and the biggest avocados I've ever seen. Unfortunately they had run out of the yellow/red/orange bell peppers by the time we got to the distribution.
This produce distribution takes place in various locations all over Tucson and has got to be one of the best values. The produce is fresh, ripe and ready to be eaten. They are not giving you spoiled, overripe food. The volunteers from Vision church were well organized, helpful and friendly.
We weighed and valued our produce when we got home. For $10 we walked away with 70 pounds of produce (could have taken more or less if we wanted) that we valued at $92. Now that's a gonga!
