| - If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield, do NOT go there. Their services are inconsistent for different people. My two American colleagues in office who have exactly the same insurance, were billed in network. Another colleague, was told his insurance would not be accepted. Me? I walked into Carle hospital, and they sent me to Carle Clinic - and guess what? Hospital is in-network, Clinic is out-of-network. Not all hospital services are in-network. Blue Cross Blue Shield told me that my colleague's Physician was NOT covered by them, BUT his bill was in-network. Coincidently, my colleague is American.
I talked to Ashley who handles patient accounts I believe - on being asked: "Why was the other Asian told that his insurance is not accepted here? Why wasn't I told?" She replied: "It depends who you go to, what the staff has been told, etc".
So, it is really a gamble to go to Carle and hope that you are not being mugged.
In the mean time, I will pay my bills for a couple of hundred dollars to be seen by a nurse, and not even a doctor.
