Located at the corner of Shaw and Queen W, this unique import paper store gives character to a cluster of businesses that have had their existence threatened by reconstruction of the building they're in. Still, they've held strong and their one of a kind offerings seem to fit in well with the boutique style shops that dot the landscape in this Queen West neighborhood.
Paper products are kind of a relic of the past and have had their market change from mainstream to niche, however stores like this show that these products have experienced a reinvention and through that a renaissance in popularity, this uniqueness is what makes a store like this so easy to appreciate. While wishes for a birthday in the office can be taken care of with a card from Shoppers, for those other occasions a store like this is just what the situation calls for. The majority of the products are from Korea or Japan I believe, and the quality is amazing. I had a friend who'd taken care of another friends dog so they could visit me and needed a way to say thanks, so a pop up 3D outline card of a bike (I bike everywhere) dos the trick. Notebooks, cards, planners, sketch books and large sheets of paper and wrapping paper and anything that can be made of paper to give as a gift can be found here. Prices are what you'd expect (the bike card was $7) and service is polite and staff is fairly attentive.
Worth the trip!
