We stayed here over the NYE period as a treat to ourselves. We wanted to be further down (or is that up) the strip than we usually stay and I wanted to be near the shops and restaurants I wanted to hit so this won the reservation lottery.
The rooms look pretty much to me like their siblings the Venetian rooms. We asked for a strip view and while not exactly facing the strip (our view was of TI and onwards past Circus Circus) it wasn't bad - beats looking at a heating unit. The room was well laid out with a mini office center in the room. Desk, chair, internet access and an in room printer.
The bed was comfy although that padded headboard looked a bit dusty to me. There was a TV for the bedroom part, the sunken living room part and one in the bathroom. The bathroom was very room but that tub layout just tanked! The separate shower was great but that tub? Getting in and out required some flexibility and part of the vanity wall covered where your head would be so no watching TV while soaking in the tub.
Check-in and out was efficient and pleasant enough, housekeeping was fantastic, but room service messed up our one order. Told them no nuts on salad bad allergy...guess what came on the salad. They replaced the salad far quicker than it took to get the original order but I had told them several times no nuts. Oh well....
We wanted to rent a car one day to go out to Lake Mead and tried to rent one from the rental agency in the hotel...DON'T DO IT! What they wanted to charge for one day was double what we eventually got a car for from down the street.
The shopping areas are very nice and opulent and if you don't want to go out into the heat or cold you can spend a great deal of time going from the Palazzo to the Venetian and back again.
Would we stay here again? Not sure. Reservations on the phone were very nice and helpful but there were NO discounts and they require one nights stay in advance...and that one night stay ain't cheap!
