| - All American K-9 was my second experience with a dog trainer with the same dog, a Giant Schnauzer. I hired the first (positive reinforcement) trainer when my dog was 6 months old. This time, my dog now 2, I ditched positive reinforcement for AAK's remote collar training. The first round of training was fine and taught him the basics, but because it relied on treats, my dog pretty much didn't listen to me anymore unless there was a reason for it (food). It also failed to correct his pulling behavior on walks, even though I worked my butt off at it. The first trainer gave me a ton of techniques for his mouthiness, jumping, pulling, grabbing things that didn't belong to him - all of which simply DIDN'T WORK on my dog. He just didn't want to listen (why would he?!) I spent a ton of time trying to follow the first trainer's advice and felt exhausted with all of it. I also felt like I must just have a really tough dog because none of these things were working.
AAK came with the collar and everything got easy. I have tools now to address every issue I was having with my dog, and he sits/stays/heels on and off leash. The most important part of this post is that it was SUPER EASY to train my dog. I had a couple of difficulties in week 1 (my dog was being super stubborn about sitting, even though he knew he command), and I texted Bob about it. He immediately responded with how to address the issue. It worked. I now feel like my dog isn't tough at all. I just needed someone to give me training techniques that actually work. Sorry but that positive reinforcement BS just doesn't work for a lot of dogs.
I highly recommend this business.
