  • Well, it's a yarn shop! And I really have nothing to compare it to because it's completely unique. I liked it and I am gonna go out on a limb and say that the people at Gina Browns know yarn better than anyone else in the city. Yes even better than your grandma! I came here with my lil sis and her fiancĂ©. We were on a hunt for some good yarn for my sister to fashion some marimba mallets from scratch. The sheer variety of colors, materials and gauges was a yarners ball! Everything from silk yarn to el paca to mountain yak to ancient wooly mammoth... You get the idea... This place is a knitters candy land! One other cool thing about it is that when we went in I saw some people at a table that were knitting and I am pretty sure they were taking lessons, either that or it's just a place for them to hang out and talk shop! So if you need yarn come here ! It's the best place to come for yarn Calgary! Check it out! P.S- If you want really strong yarn, ask them to perform a "burn test" for you.No joke!
