| - Hey Lakewood Park. *Wink-wink*
Yeah you...over there being all perfect and beautiful. I'm talking about you and all the things that make you awesome-sauce.
Lakewood Park is as good as it gets in Cleveland, if you ask me. And let's face it, you're reading my review. So, I shall preach on!
Holy nostalgia! The first thing you see when you pull into the park is an old-school bandstand with lots of seating for live shows. It seriously takes you back to times most of us have only read about in books. The park is always bustling with Clevelanders enjoying every recreational activity and splendor it has to offer. And trust me, that's a lot!
What makes it so special? I'm glad you asked! Lakewood Park holds the answer to any situation that involves bored kiddies in it's massive playground. I mean, honestly, I got lost in this thing. Sand volleyball courts, baseball fields, tennis courts, a skate park, public pool, scenic views of the lake and the skyline are just a few of the things that this park boasts. Looking for a chill spot to go on a relaxing walk or take a date? Try taking a stroll around the park and utilizing the swings that overlook the beautiful Lake Erie shore. The possibilities are never-ending. Kind of like that one song that never... Oh crap.
I know that many parks probably offer similar things, but Lakewood Park has a vibe to it that mirrors past times. You feel like you're truly a part of the neighborhood. Its free, huge and well maintained. I've never questioned my safety here and people are always smiling. It's like a suburban vibe, but in the city.
Unfortunately, I've only made it out to Lakewood Park a few times this summer, but I'll definitely be checking it out when the gorgeous autumn colors set in. If you haven't taken advantage of this fabulous Cleveland resource yet, you better get there ASAP. Or else I'll start questioning your fan-having abilities. Seriously.
