| - Met the owners (couple) of Bonjour last night at a dinner party, they brought some pastries from her bakery. They were really nice, from Paris, the wife said she usually eats in the AM a Petit Déjeuner of a croissant & coffee.
All of their desserts that I tried were simply exquisite. Prior to this, I'm not sure I ever actually noticed Bonjour, which we just found out is in the same complex as Sprouts, not too far from home.
The millefeuille transported me right back to Paris.
I must have spent about 15-20 minutes enjoying my 1/3 slice, because it was the perfect level of sweetness, crispness, smoothness, butteryness & coldness, a la Paris boulangerie, & I wanted to savor each morsel. The desserts were light enough, too, that, as the party host said, they're easy to enjoy even after a pretty big meal.
I think my baby liked the millefeuille, too. This pregnant lady now can't stop thinking about millefeuilles. She doesn't want them -- she needs them. Ahhhh!! :)
Also looking forward to trying some macarons from Bonjour. Probably dropping by later.
P.S.
The owner has mentioned that they use butter for their pastries -- no margarine, & that they usually start baking at around 2AM (she says she hardly sleeps). They've added a bunch of food to their bakery. As usual, everything was fantastic. Everything is made fresh daily.
