  • I've lived on this side of town for 12 years and I've gone to this place many many times. It has always been over-priced and either extremely cluttered or poorly stocked. The kids they employ are clueless and useless. Why have I returned? Because I hate driving to Stephanie and only need party supplies once in awhile. That stopped yesterday. I needed some clear, cellophane, little party baggies....I asked the girl behind the counter where they were and was actually a little shocked that she came out from behind and walked me to the aisle. -Um...The aisle with the Large, Colorful, Paper gift bags in it. I tried explaining what I wanted again and really, the only interchangeable words I could think to say were "small, plastic goodie bags?" She says "Well, if it's not here, we don't have it" then waves an arm, and tells me to look around. Ok...I'm actually not surprised, don't even know why I bothered to ask in the first place. I wander around and actually find a good 1/4 of an aisle chocked full of cellophane baggies. Several sizes, colors, shapes...fabulous, right? I needed 175, so didn't think I'd probably find that many that were actually the same. I didn't. But while I'm trying to find a good combination a new song starts on the radio. I cannot make this up, the chorus was G*d dammit you n*****r, F**k this s**t!!!! What? Obviously I didn't hear that correctly...I'm standing in the aisle, put my purse down and listen a little more closely. Nope!! There it was again!!! Are you kidding me? I'm pretty sure that's a little inappropriate for some light Tuesday afternoon shopping in a store that sells items geared towards kids and parties. Back to the bags....after digging through all the products (because each hook had more than one color and size hanging on it) I actually found some small, clear, cellophane baggies hiding behind ones with carrots on them. 175. Eureka. I go to check out and *beep....the price doesn't come up. *beep*beep*beep. -because if it didn't work the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time, maybe it will the 4th. She asks me if I know how much they were? I say "I think $1.99, but I'll go check." I come back with the actual hook it was hanging on that read $1.99 multi pack something or other. (Obviously wrong.) I tell her that it's kind of a mess in that section and I actually did a little organizing for them. Carrots with carrots, green with green, Etc. She says "Oh, thanks! I'm supposed to be doing that over there, just haven't gotten to it yet." Sooooo, kitten.....which words tripped you up in our first conversation? Small, little, cellophane, plastic, clear, party, goodie, Baggie?? I weep for the next generation....but anyway, I hated my first job too, so I say nothing and just smile. While this is going on, a man is talking with the other girl, asking why he didn't receive his deposit back from a table rental. Oh, "she sees what went wrong...the man dropped the tables off with the new guy and when Man asked if everything was good? New guy said yes, so Man just left without ASKING for his deposit back." This is being relayed to an adult man (owner? Manager?) (p.s. My girl is still beeping away with no success). Man finally gets his refund and that girl comes to the assistance of my girl. Girl 2 actually says: "Oh here's the problem, if it doesn't scan, then you have to input the item number." Holy crap...Isn't this cashiering 101? So anyway...to sum up my shopping experience...I would give Party USA negative stars if I could and don't be lazy like me....drive to Stephanie, or better yet, there's a fabulous store over 215 & Trop (maybe flamingo?) that was amazingly stocked with a broad array of products, sure to dazzle and amaze you if you've ever been into Party USA.
