I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I went in for a simple cleaning and everything was fine. I wasn't blown away, but I mean it's the dentist... Who likes the dentist? The hygienist started with X-rays and immediately showed me the problem spots. Dr. Hicks came in for about five minutes, identified some issues with fillings and cavities and was quite friendly. The hygienist explained all the jargon the dentist rattled off and then proceeded with the cleaning. She used a waterpik which meant no terrifying scraping sounds as she removed the plaque and then polished me up, took a few pictures and sent me on my way.
Basically going to the dentist is like going to the mechanic. You come in for routine stuff and they suggest a bunch of expensive extras. Even though they did this, I didn't feel any pressure to take them or even make a follow up appointment.
The only thing that creeped me out a little bit was how she took pictures of my teeth. She unwrapped a mirror from some paper towels, rinsed it in the sink, and then out the whole thing in my mouth to take pics with a digital camera. That didn't seem terribly sanitary, so if you're a germophobe I wouldn't recommend this place.
