  • Buying a car is often an experience that occasionally brings in anxiety. This is especially true when the car you are looking at is in another state. I live in San Diego, CA and had a very specific set of features, options and colors I wanted in a Mercedes GLK350. In addition I wanted to secure a really good deal and bring a surprise home to my wife. I found this dealer selling the perfect example at the perfect price. After a few calls and text message pictures from Jim Chikos, I booked a flight for the same evening and flew over. He picked me up at the airport and drove me right to where the car was washed and sitting. First thing I noticed when we drove it was a bad sound coming from rear suspension. Due to my late flight, service was closed. After looking over the car with me for two hours, Jim, Gavin (sales manager) and I agreed to have it examined by service first thing in am and I would return to the dealership just in case it was a small issue. I was rather upset at the situation but decided it was worth a night in PHX in case this was a good car with unseen issue. I was very glad I did. As promised, Jim got the car in with lead tech right away and diagnosed a worn out rear shock; easy fix. We negotiated the deal with Gavin and I promptly drove it home to CA! This was the FIRST time I have ever bought a car out of state and I didn't even worry. Penske dealerships have an incredible reputation for service and quality. Jim proved this to me without question. Was the situation perfect? No but when is it ever? Can I say the dealership treated me with the respect and service I expected? ABSOLUTELY! Will I refer them to anyone looking for a Mercedes? WITHOUT QUESTION GO SEE JIM CHIKOS!
