| - Never in my life have I met such an unprofessional decorator. Actually this is a front, she wants to be a General Contractor. She says she quit working with us cause she says she didn't get the job. We paid for Victoria the decorator which is what her contract states. The GC job (which we did ourselves) was never available. She so greedy, the decorator wouldn't pay her enough. Yes, its confusing. So to break it down, we had a contract with Victoria as a decorator. That didn't pay her enough, she wanted the GC position. Which there never was one, she decided not to do her decorating duties. In spite of there being a contract.
We signed a contract for her to help us with colors, stone choices, furniture placement, etc.
For a year. Paid her $2200.00 Starting in Nov 2015 to Nov 2016. She disappeared in
Feb, quit returning my phone calls. Not once did we mention she would be a general contractor nor was she up for this job. She didn't order my wall paper, she didn't return phone calls, (which I have proof.) When I asked for my money back, she said that isn't fair! (Shows how chlldish and greedy she is) How fair is it that she didn't do what she was hired for. I have proof of texts never returned.
We were looking for some stones designs, she brings over a couple of gaudy designs that she claimed she put together but where actually done by a large stone company here. Found this out from the stone installer and she forgot to take off the Stone companies name at the bottom of the design.
We ask if she know a stone guy to give us a bid. She brings over Nero's and they go through my house seeing all the little jobs they could do for this remodel. We are living in the house, we don't need a GC but just for grins and to see how real greedy Victoria is, we say Ok give us a bid.
All of the things they bid on were bits and pieces of jobs. So I would of had to go get someone to actually finish the work. The pricing they gave me was OUTRAGEOUS! Some of the mark up was as high as 400% over what I ended up getting bids on and using.
Glass shower doors/unit bid was $4500.00 For the cheapest ones. Got the best quality doors for $2200.00. More than double in price
Move one chandelier to a new location, put a new one up in the old location $2000.00
Had it done for $677.00. More than triple in price
This is the most outrageous. Do a build out around a fridge so the new one is built in. Nero's brought a guy out here who didn't know the difference between depth and width. RC Wiley's had sent someone over here who told me (a woman) how to do this. I paid attention. When Nero's rep was out here goofing around like Curly of the 3 stooges, he wouldn't listen to what I was telling him, in spite of the fact I had drawings. And they appliance installer told me what NOT to do. Nero's' pricing $1300.00 Had it done for $280.00 That is a mark up of over 4.5 times.
When Victoria first walked in my house she said are you keeping those Roman Shades. Before we talked about anything! She makes curtains and the ones I've seen are hideous.
She also said to me your floors are filthy. I could not figure out what she was talking about. They are travertine. We decided to have them polished. I told the stone polisher and he said these floors are Scuvo! They are very hard to get now, also known as walnut. So they have black (some people call it antquing) right in the stone. You can't polish it out. So much for this designer's European sophistication!
Yes I have turned her into the ASID where she is to be president of the local chapter next year.
If this doesn't work getting my well deserved money back, I will be taking her to small claims.
I'm also going to turn her into the contractors board as I don't think she is licensed.
All this drama could of been avoided if she had just given us our money back. But her good judgement is impaired by arrogance and greed.
