My husband and I first dined at Vallozzi's on New Years Eve' 13 and have been monthly regulars since that first dinner. Saturday, March 9th we dined with a party of 6. The food was great but the service was slow and lacking. I have had good and not so good waiters at Vallozzi's.
Our fried calamari and zucchini appetizers were good and the salads were tasty, as I am exceptionally fond of the fresh mozzarella bar. It is a great concept for something different. For the table's bread service, I enjoyed the creamy ricotta butter. For dinner, the Filet Mignon is excellent but the table's side dishes of mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts never arrived. First, the waitress said they would be 1 minute, then 5 minutes later she said the sides "died" in the warmer so the chef was making new. Well, we finished dinner and never saw our side dishes, so that was disappointing. To make up for the sides, the manger took our 2 lava cakes off the bill, but next time I would prefer my side dishes over free dessert.
