  • I have been a customer of the Self Wash area of Wag N' Wash for several years. It is a lifesaver for me as I cannot bend over our bathtub to bathe our dogs. Lately I have noticed that the drying areas were not free of hair from previous customers. I had to blow it away myself before drying my dog. Because this is a convenient location and the full grooming area is small compared to other groomers I have used in the area I decided to give them a try. I have a rescue dog that had a lot of mats in his long hair. I wanted his hair to be kept long and I did not want him hurt by trying to comb out the mats so I cut them out myself. He still had long'ish hair but it needed a shaping. I took several photos I found of other dogs of the way I wanted him to look and even a photo of how I did NOT want him to look. I was looking forward to picking him up in the two hours I was promised which actually was 3.5 hours. I couldn't believe how he looked. Not shaved, but his hair was very short. He hardly looked like the same dog. Plus, they were about to charge me $10 more than I had been quoted on the phone when I made the appointment. The groomer had already left for the day so I was unable to speak with him. I said I was not willing to pay for this grooming and the front desk person called the manager at another location. She was very nice and agreed not to charge me. When I made the appointment I specifically told them what I wanted and that I wanted an experienced groomer. They said they would have their most experienced groomer do it. When I talked with him before the grooming and showed him the photos he barely paid attention and seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. I should have left then but decided to give him a try. When I mentioned the price of the grooming to him he said I should have spoken to him because the people on the floor who answer the phone don't know what they are talking about. That doesn't speak very well about the training of the staff in the store. I trusted that they knew the prices charged and did not think there was any reason to speak to the groomer. I am give it one star only because they did not charge me for this poor grooming. I will not be using this groomer again for a full service grooming.
