This is my favourite mall to shop at in the city of Toronto. It is usually very easy to find parking and the stores are great. The employees at most stores are phenomenal and most recently the Oxford Corporation Employees went above and beyond to make a bad situation right.
I arrived early in the morning to get in line for the Yorkdale Black Friday Promotion. I randomly woke up at 2:30am and knew I wouldn't fall back asleep, so I went to the mall to wait in line. I arrived around 3:30am. At the time, I was around the 70th person in line. By 5am, so many people had joined their friends ahead of me that my place went from 70 to over 100. Myself and the people next to me in line were upset because we had gotten there early and there was no one monitoring the line. I mentioned this to the Yorkdale employees and they reviewed the video footage and called their superiors to see what they could do for us. After speaking with their supervisors, they gave us all gift-cards, since we were part of the first 100 people. I was really glad they helped us out in a situation we could not control. I respect the employees for treating us the way they would want to be treated if they were in the same situation.
In addition to the above situation, Yorkdale's guest service representatives' are extremely helpful. From telling you where a store is, to helping guests discover where to buy a particular item, they always provide guests with the best service. The only thing I am disappointed about is the fact that Yorkdale has gotten rid of employees working at guest services in the middle of the mall. The map isn't the easiest to figure out and having an employee there would be better.
