Mon Ami Gabi was the perfect backdrop for a romantic dinner in Vegas. My bf and I were seated promptly after checking in with our reservation in a cozy little corner of the restaurant which was dimly lit by candlelight. The restaurant noise is a little louder than expected but it is busy and bustling with other diners and waitstaff. From our corner, we could still see part of the Bellagio watershow.
My bf ordered the Steak Bordelaise and I, the Filet Mignon Merlot. Both steaks were cooked perfectly medium as requested. My bf's steak had good ol' beefy flavor while mine was melt-in-your mouth beefy good. There are a lot of frites on the plate to absorb the meat juices too so you get crunchy frites and meat juice soaked frites. We added asparagus as a side dish which was simple but cooked perfectly with olive oil and lemon. We actually had room for dessert and went with the Creme Brulee which for me, didn't have a custard base that was thick enough but whomever the dessert chef was, he or she nailed the caramel crust. It cracked beautifully with the tap of a spoon. The flavor was still delicious despite the runnier custard.
All of the staff was courteous but didn't seem genuinely interested in each table but perhaps that was just our waiter. He got the job done though. Maybe the next time I visit I'll try the patio seating.
