| - There you have it, Yelp has done it again! The bar has been raised once more as to what a 5 star experience is for these continual great events. Definitely a huge shout out to Pittsburgh International Airport and all the spectacular vendors and restaurants that were more than generous! I have felt that the past couple of elite events I've been to, have been fantastic and overall fun times. But Yelp's Passport to PIT, to me, has brought together everything that made some of those past events so good, to making this one phenomenal.
My girlfriend and I were super excited when we first learned about this event because we travel often and were curious to see all the new improvements at PIT Airport. The afternoon started with us parking in the short term parking, walking in and making our way through security. There is were we received our Passports to PIT and our boarding passes to start the scavenger hunt.
By this time, my GF and I had the adrenaline going and were ready to attack these vendors haha. But I'll tell you what, after the first 4 stops, we were being attacked by them lol. What I mean by that; is we got started with some awesome chicken salad sliders from The Club, then we got an okay Cali chicken Panini and some bomb wild rice soup from Farm Fresh Deli, and finally some tasty tacos from Steel Cactus. My GF and I were so full from all the food and we hadn't even got halfway through with the vendors.
I won't go over every single vendor but some of our favorites were The Strip Market for the Blume honey water (AMAZING). Bottega dei Sapori really stood out to us because the service was awesome. The gentlemen who served us the biscotti and coffee was nice and informative. My GF and I have a trip coming up to Chicago this weekend and we plan on being back to Bottega for breakfast!
Overall, with so many food samples and drink samples, would have already made this event one of the best. But when you include how fun the scavenger hunt concept was and the just wonderful gift bags we received (included a $10 gift certificate) this event was over the top! I said at the beginning, this event has raised the bar for 5 star experiences. Excited to see what Yelp has in store for the future!
