| - *UPDATE 2* Thank u district mgr, Shane, for contacting me because you r genuinely concerned about your stores. Nonetheless, I will not delete my review for the simple fact it's my own personal experience & when someone tells a worker to stick with the same oil I've been using for 8 yrs, u leave it at that. I've had no issues using half price oil for 8 yrs with no threats to my engine. I literally just blew a grand at the other Goodyear, so you have not completely lost my business, Sir.
And Robert, you're a nice dude... But living 20 yrs in Vegas and having gone through numerous car shops time after time lie to me and recommending me unnecessary things, I wish u would have said "yes, we'll change it to the synthetic blend" and left it at that. This experience, unfortunately, gave me flashbacks of the my past treatment.
*UPDATE* Bumped my 1 star to 2. Someone else from management?!?! (Jesse) was quick to call me the next day to make things right and charging me only for the synthetic blend aka half the cost. Will continue to go to Goodyear, but sticking to the warm springs location since they have been upfront with me from the start. My go-to guy is Russ & Omar was great to deal with as well. I shouldn't have gone through this ordeal in the first place.
*******************************
Not all Goodyears are alike and I learned the hard way.
Came in for a simple oil change and was suggested I go for the full synthetic because it's a better oil
I don't know anything about cars so I took the managers word for it and said sure.
Told my hubby about it and he asked me why I'm changing things and I said it's because the worker said it's better. My hubby also said "you've got the least expensive gas for yrs, now r u gonna start using diesel coz someone today said it's better?"
So I got to thinking.... I've had my car for 8 yrs using the same oil and never had issues. The dealership I bought my car at used the same oil for yrs too and they r the manufacturers!
So I called the mgr explaining the situation and he said "OK, if anything happens to your engine, I'm gonna write a note that we're not responsible for it". So of course his SCARE TACTIC worked and I said go ahead with the original plan.
I wanted a second opinion so I called another Goodyear explaining my situation. Told him the mileage, how often I drive, etc.
He basically said that it's not like I'm driving something like a high performance car like a corvette or hauling something heavy so I could have opted with the synthetic blend.
I was so livid. I can't believe I was taken advantage of. That's what I get for straying from my usual Goodyear location.
So I go and pay and with a $5 coupon , my bill for an oil change was over $60!!! It would have been almost $70 without the discount.
I never ever ever paid more than $40-45 for an oil change in the 20 yrs I've been in Vegas. If I go to the damn dealership, I would not have paid that much!!!
So needless to say.... If u r a woman who is clueless about cars, STAY FAR FAR AWAY
PS. Going to get second opinions on all the things they suggested. I don't trust these ppl after my experience
You F****D with the wrong girl
