  • When I get my own travel show "Best Dives in the Best Cities", where the term, "hidden gem" is OUTLAWED, this location will be the premiere episode. Legit Dive bar. Cash only. I have walked past this place dozens of times, and I have never walked inside. I have walked into the convenience store adjacent the bar, but never ventured inside. Why you ask? Because it's kind of scary from outside. It's dark. It's filled with locals, serious drinkers and toothless seniors. A security guard is always on site to keep the homeless people on the outer edge of the door. If this place was in a trailer park it would be high class. But, it's not. It's off the strip, across the street from Caesars and Bally's, directly behind Bill's (Drai's). This place is a hot mess...and I L O V E IT! I ventured in on a whim. My hotel shuttle driver told me, if he was going to get some cheap pre-game drinks, this is where he would go. He also mentioned getting a hot dog and a beer for $2, I was sold. So, I wander over, and get this...bottles of michelob for a dollar, that's right, one G Dub. A shot of bourbon and a Busch beer for $2 bucks. Yup, you heard me, $2 dolla GURL. How about a Bud and a Brat for $2.95? Something crazy like that. It was insane. Not as insane as the locals up in the beeee-otch, but insane nonetheless. I witnessed a homeless man case the joint from an open door, until the security guy showed his face so the homeless man would know he was not to re-enter the establishment. I also saw a tourist wander in with a camera and get scolded by the bartender, as "NO PICTURES ARE ALLOWED IN HERE". Oh and the bartenders had on halter tops, even though it was 30 degrees that day...I wish I had a picture. Aiight. I can't wait to get back to Vegas I tell you. Best Dive Bar Ever. #1... wait for the show. p.s. Convenience/ Liquor store next door (attached) has cheap beers and snacks (and souvenirs) if you need room staples.
