I've shopped at west elm for years - purchasing bedroom and living room sets as well as a ton of other items and decor. Maybe I was spoiled by the Tyson's Corner location, but now after going to the Charlotte store over the last four years I'm taking my business elsewhere. If I want west elm, I'll shop online. This store has some of the worst customer service and least accommodating staff. You'd think if you walked in telling them you were ready to buy an item that is over $1000, they'd try to help answer your questions - nope. And that's not a one time, two time, three time, or even four time thing. It's been the case every single time I've come into this store with a large item to purchase. The managers seem to be miserable and over-worked and the associates have no clue what they're doing or how to do retail sales. Tip: don't insult your customers. Tip: if you don't have what your customer came in for, offer an alternative. Don't just walk away from them, leaving them to feel like their business is worthless to you. Don't go here. Shop online. Maybe west elm will get the message and audit this store. Charlotte is too big of a market to be serviced so poorly!
