I've seen Donovan's name all the time in the airplane magazines listed among the top 10 steak houses in the country so I went there like 3 years ago. I wasn't impressed and that's why I never went back.
But I believe that everybody deserves a second chance so I went back.
The place is pretty nice, the service was friendly and professional and all in all the ambiance was a solid four star rating.
But when it comes to the food...
The bread was hard and stiff, I don't know if it's the bread type or it was old. The taste wasn't bad but the texture wasn't good in my opinion.
The house chopped salad was flavorless and it was too much salad.
The Mac and Cheese with bacon was barely ok.
I asked our waiter what to order since I wasn't impressed by their filet last time and he recommended the rib eye (I asked specifically between those 2 dishes).
I ordered the rib eye and it was good but nothing impressive. If this place was half as expensive, it would be a four star.
BTW, all the dishes were extremely hot, like "hell, I-burned-my-mouth-roof-and-it's already-peeling" hot.
Anyways, good place for a date but don't expect much from the food and be ready to pay some extra money.
