  • I have no idea whether this is the correct AAA listing, but it was the only one that already had a review, so I'll add props to this one. Once again, Sheila (the old '02 Focus) gave me a holiday present: dead battery. Nice. Thanks, Sheila! I haven't spent hundreds of dollars on you in quite awhile. The AAA guys were great over the phone and gave me an exact time they wouldn't come later than (uh, sorry for ill-constructed sentence). In other words, they said, "Someone will be by no later than 11:50." The guy actually got there way early, more like 11:00. He was professional and didn't try to push things on me the way the Jiffy Lube guys do it when all you wanted was an oil change. After the jump start, he charged the battery for 5 minutes to see whether or not it held a charge. NOPE, not really, so he replaced it right there on the spot after finding the correct battery in his trunk-o-goodies. Turns out the battery the car came with (when I bought it used 2 1/2 years ago) was too small and wasn't the right one. Wisconsin auto dealership, you lose ten points. After only about 30 minutes, the whole process was done and I got a brand-new (correct) battery with a 6-year warranty. And hopefully no more problems until next winter! (Or maybe we'll donate this clunker for a tax credit before then...)
