| - I really wanted to like this practice. I had heard good things and I have friends that take their kids. It's easy to get an appointment and the wait times are short. However, these things don't matter when your child isn't cared for. My newborn son has a pretty sever case of breast milk jaundice. Dr. Lillie had us come in every day to check his bilirubin levels and every day they kept going up. She never suggested getting a biliblanket, just kept saying let's check them tomorrow. Well his level finally hit the dangerous 19 mark and she told us we had to admit him to the hospital, so we did. We were there for a day for phototherapy. His levels went down while we were there but they obviously kept rising once we were released. Dr. Rose was now our doctor once we left the hospital and told us the same thing, let's keep checking his levels but there was no plan on how to keep his levels down. So once again we were admitted to the hospital for two days bc they hit the dangerous mark again. After two hospital stays, their only answer was to keep checking but they never offered an actual preventive care solution. I had enough, I pressed why we couldn't have a biliblanket to use at home and was told it wasn't needed. What?!? My 10 day old son had been in the hospital twice bc their refusal to treat him! Dr. Rose was so annoyed that I was pressing the issue, she had no empathy that we had been in the hospital twice and had no problem that my son was turning more yellow everyday, and obviously getting worse. I have no idea why both doctors were so adamant about not letting us get a blanket unless they get kickbacks for admitting patients to the hospital. It's the only thing that makes sense. After two weeks of hell with Siena, we have found a pediatrician that has prescribed a blanket we're using at home, and guess what?! My son's levels are under control and we don't need to spend our time and money at the hospital. I'm mad I didn't find a new pediatrician sooner, but I'm not the doctor and I trusted them. Thankfully my son will never remember their lack of care and the horrible hospital stays. Their lack of care should be punishable.
